Services Held for Charles McGinnis

Charles L. McGinnis, 84, of Brandon died April 3.

He was born on May 21, 1928, in Lakeland to the late Grover and Alice (White) McGinnis.

He spent the last 63 years with Gloria (Hendry) McGinnis.

Charles was preceded in death by a son, Charles McGinnis, a brother, Seward McGinnis, a sister, Iris Lee, and a grandchild, Jennifer McGinnis.

Along with his wife, Charles is survived by two sons; Stanley (Teresa) McGinnis and Timothy (Vicki) McGinnis; two daughters, Iris (Rick) Tosca and Robin (Mike) Dampier; a daughter-in-law, Terri McGinnis; a brother, Robert (Barbara) McGinnis; a sister, Margaret (Charles) Studstill; 14 grandchildren, Angela Carter, Lisa Diaz, Daniel Tosca, Scott McGinnis, Matt McGinnis, Jennifer McGinnis (dec.), Ryan McGinnis, Iris DiMeo, Shannon McGinnis, Ehrika Hancock, Crystal Holloway, David McGinnis, Rachel McGinnis and Ashley McGinnis; and 19 great-grandchildren, Joshua Carter, Amanda Carter, Seth Carter, Abigail Carter, Merrick Diaz, Austin Diaz, Madisyn Tosca, Jadyn Tosca, Paisley Tosca, Malena McGinnis, Garren McGinnis, Anne Marie McGinnis, Caden DiMeo, Maisey DiMeo, Connor McGinnis, Cheyenne Hancock, A. J. Hancock, Camaryn Holloway and Aiden McGinnis, plus one boy on the way.

A funeral service was conducted on Sunday April 7 at Serenity Meadows. A burial with military honors took place with the immediate family on Monday, April 8 at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
