Brandon Man Shot At Dade City Wake: Police

Dade City Police are asking for help finding the person responsible for shooting a Brandon man Friday night.

DADE CITY, FL — A 36-year-old Brandon man remained hospitalized in critical condition Saturday following a Friday night shooting in Dade City.

According to the Dade City Police Department, Bilal Adurraheem Belle attended a wake in the 3700 block of Moceri Avenue the evening of Jan. 20. “There was a very large crowd which had spilled out across a number of yards,” an email from the police department said.

Around 11:35 p.m. Friday, police say they received emergency calls about shots fired in the area. When officers arrived, they found Belle on the ground with a gunshot wound to the upper body.

Belle was taken to Lakeland Regional Hospital where he underwent surgery on Saturday. He was last listed in critical condition.

Police are asking anyone with information in the case to contact Det. Robert Tungate at 352-521-1495. Tips may also be submitted through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS.
