Brandon Playground Closing For ‘Supersized’ Remodeling

The playground at Paul Sanders Park is getting a whole new look.

BRANDON, FL — Families who use the playground at Paul Sanders Park will need to find a new location to hang out for a few months. Hillsborough County has announced the impending temporary closing of the park for a $315,000 makeover.

The 602 W. Bloomingdale Ave. park is set to close to the public from Feb. 1 to March 31 to make way for construction of a "supersized" playground and other improvements.

The makeover involves the replacement of “virtually all of the playground equipment,” the county wrote in an email to media. New play structures will also be added, including swings, slides and “next-generation playground equipment that encourages children to climb, run and play.”

New playground equipment will be made from engineered wood fiber, the county said. The project also includes renovating the park’s restrooms, repaving its parking lot and adding sidewalks. An additional entrance is also planned to improve traffic flow in and out of the park.
