Citizen Patrol Cars, Valrico Shop Signs Damaged; Vandals Sought

Three cars at the Bloomingdale Substation of the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office were vandalized, along with signs at nearby Roberts Auto and Porter Paints.

Greater Brandon residents are asked to contact the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office with any tips that migh lead to the identification of vandals who caused about $6,000 worth of damages to citizen patrol vehicles parked at the Bloomingdale Substation in Valrico.

Also reported damaged were nearby signs belonging to Roberts Auto Shop and Mobile Auto Service and Porter Paints, both in the strip shopping center at 3636 Erindale Drive (and Lithia Pinecrest Road).

The Bloomingdale Substation is at 622 Erindale Drive.

According to a sheriff's office report, the vandals rendered three citizen patrol vehicles undrivable, using “bricks, chunks of asphalt and a metal pipe to shatter windshields, windows and tail lights.”

The vandalism was reported to have occurred sometime between May 27, at 10 p.m., and May 28, at 7 a.m.
