Closures Set For Selmon Expressway Reversible Lanes

The lane closures will take place for upgrades on the Selmon Expressway.

TAMPA, FL – Motorists looking to go between Tampa and Brandon this weekend on the Selmon Expressway will not be able to use the Reversible Express Lanes.

The Selmon Expressway Reversible Express Lanes are scheduled to close starting Saturday, Aug. 5 at 7 a.m. All five of the expressway’s entry points will be closed: the Downtown Tampa entrance, the 34th Street Entrance, the U.S. Highway 301 entrance, the Brandon entrance and the 78th Street entrance.

The lanes are scheduled to reopen on Saturday, Aug. 6 at 6 p.m. when the Reversible Express Lanes will open in the eastbound direction, resuming normal hours of operation.

The Tampa-Hillsborough Expressway Authority is closing the lanes to upgrade software.

Motorists are advised that REL hours are subject to change without notice for maintenance and construction work.
