Dad Killed, Toddler Injured In Plant City Crash

A Wednesday evening crash claimed the life of a man while leaving his 2-yer-old son injured.

PLANT CITY, FL — A 30-year-old man was killed and his 2-year-old son injured in a single-vehicle Wednesday evening crash in Plant City.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Bryan Anthony was heading north on Henry George Road around 6:15 p.m. Jan. 4. As Anthony’s vehicle approached Old Hopewell Road, he attempted to pass several vehicles, but lost control, an email from the agency said.

The sheriff’s office said Anthony lost control of his vehicle, left the road and struck a utility pole. Anthony died at the scene.

His son, who was not restrained in the vehicle, was taken by helicopter to Tampa General Hospital, the agency added. The boy was listed in stable condition Thursday morning, the sheriff’s office reported.

No further information about the crash is being released at this time.
