Detective: Seffner Double Shooting; Armed Brandon Man Possibly Suicidal
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office reports late May 12 the discovery of two shot men in Seffner and a man "armed and possibly suicidal" in Brandon.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office was busy going into the post-midnight hours of May 13 with a double shooting in Seffner and a man said to be armed and suicidal in Brandon.
Homicide detectives arrived on the scene May 12 at 11606 Valencia Drive in Seffner, where two men were found with gunshot wounds and transported to Tampa General Hospital for emergency treatment.

The detectives arrived on the scene after someone called 911 at 9:26 p.m. to report someone had been shot.
“This incident does not appear to be random at this time,” reported detective Larry McKinnon, a Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson, in a report sent at 10:54 p.m.

Additional information, including the condition of the patients, was said to be forthcoming.
Earlier, at 8:41 p.m., the sheriff’s office reportedly received a call that a man with active warrants, possibly armed and suicidal, was inside a residence at 606 Lake Drive in Brandon.
At the time of the 11:19 p.m. report on the incident, the Crisis Negotiation Team and SWAT members on the scene had been “trying to contact the individual through various methods of communications” and deputies at the time had not yet made contact.
The neighborhood street in front of the residence had been closed for safety reasons, McKinnon reported.
