Resident Crystal Davis said that her trailer is about 100 feet away from the trailer where the two men were found dead Sunday at about 5:30 p.m. They were roommates.
Davis said in a phone interview that she did not notice or hear anything unusual at her neighbors' trailer, though she worked late Saturday night.
She said that both men worked at Walmart — one in Valrico and the other in Seffner. Davis said that since the deaths, other residents have told her that the two men never showed up for work Saturday night.
Davis has lived at the trailer park for just a few months, but never had problems with any neighbors. "There is never any partying going on," she said.
Davis said that she really did not know the two men who lived just 100 feet away. She said that the two men "kept to themselves and never caused trouble. They played video games, worked at Walmart and would walk their dog."
The mother of one of the victims released a statement today. According to WTSP.com, Joshua's mother, Karen Deas, issued this statement:
"There was no reason for this to happen. It was senseless. They were good kids. Josh would give you the shirt off his back. They were well-loved, well-behaved kids who worked hard. We are working on the funeral arrangements."
