DUI Saturation Patrol Set For Eastern Hillsborough County
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has a DUI saturation patrol planned for the July 4 weekend.

BRANDON, FL — Motorists with big party plans to kick off the 4th of July weekend will want to think twice before getting behind the wheel impaired. The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has announced a DUI saturation patrol for the eastern portion of the county.
According to the agency, deputies intend to hit the road around 8 p.m. June 30. The operation is expected to remain active until about 4 a.m. July 1.

The sheriff’s office isn’t saying exactly what roads its deputies intend to patrol in force. Instead, the agency promised to saturate the eastern part of the county “targeting impaired drivers.”
DUI saturation patrols are conducted periodically by the sheriff’s office in different parts of the county. “This DUI saturation is an effort to continue Sheriff David Gee’s goal of reducing DUI-related traffic crashes in Hillsborough County,” a media release from the agency said.

Florida law considers motorists age 21 and up impaired if they have blood alcohol contents of 0.08 or higher. Underage drivers are considered legally impaired with BACs of 0.02 or higher.

Law enforcement agencies in nearby Pinellas, Sarasota and Manatee counties are also conducting similar operations over the weekend.
