Ex-Rogers Middle Teacher Asked Girl for 'Sexually Explicit' Photos: Deputies
Breaking: A former Rogers Middle School teacher has been charged with lewd or lascivious conduct.

BRANDON, FL — A 31-year-old Brandon man faces criminal charges after Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies say he asked a student to take “sexually explicit pictures and videos of herself in sexual situations.”
According to the agency, the case against Michael Respress Geist began to unfold in May 2016 when staff at the school was made aware of possible illegal activity. The school notified deputies, who began looking into the claims.
Geist worked as a teacher at Rogers during the second semester of the 2015-16 school year, the sheriff’s office said. During April 2016, he’s accused of giving a student a smart phone and setting up applications on the phone for her.

Geist, an email from the sheriff’s office said, asked the girl “to have sexual communications with other students to include sending nude pictures.”
Geist resigned from his post at Rogers when the investigation began, the sheriff’s office noted. He was charged in the case on Monday, Sept. 12. Deputies say Geist faces lewd or lascivious conduct solicitation charges. He was booked into the Hillsborough County Jail Monday and later released in lieu of $7,500 bond, jail records indicate.
