A snapshot look at some news you can use to plan your day — and the days ahead.

- Parent 2 Parent Connection meets tonight at of Brandon, at 1310 John Moore Road. The support group is “for parents who have children with disabilities, behavioral issues or other challenges.” The group invites “all who encourage those with unique situations to join us as well.” The two-hour meeting kicks off at 6:30 p.m.
- “,” a feature-length Christian movie filmed in the Tampa Bay area and featuring two Greater Brandon community theater actresses, Mollie Anderson and Cindy Miller-Ray, premiers to the general public Feb. 18 at Muvico Centro in Ybor City. Show times are 7 and 9 p.m. Also: Feb. 19, at 2, 5 and 8 p.m., and Feb. 20, at 3 and 6 p.m. Tickets cost $8.
- The “Going Back To Glam Spring/Summer Cutting-Edge Couture Collection” fashion show, by Royalty X Thr33 Boutique at Winthrop Town Centre, is on tap for Feb. 19 at the Barn Theatre at Winthrop. The venue is at 11349 Bloomingdale Avenue in Riverview. The fashion show starts at 7 p.m. and is free to the public.
- Friday night jazz at the Carrollwood Cultural Center features Jim Burge & The Jazz Directions. The Feb. 18 show begins at 7:30 p.m. The center is at 4537 Lowell Road in Tampa. Cost is $8 for members; $12 for non-members. “Jazz With Jim” is a monthly event.
- Plan ahead for a chili cook-off, flea market and classic car show Feb. 19 at E.G. Simmons Park in Ruskin. Purchase a chili bowl for $3 to sample and vote on the samplings offered. Judging begins at noon. The flea market opens at 8 a.m.; the classic car show, at 10 a.m. The event is sponsored by the Hillsborough County Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department and benefits Friends of the County Parks, a not-for-profit organization. The park is at 2401 10th Ave. N.W. in Ruskin.
