Florida Teen With Weeks To Live Marries High School Sweetheart

Given only weeks to live, a teen with a rare type of cancer married his high school sweetheart.

A Florida teenager suffering from a rare form of cancer with only weeks to live married his high school sweetheart on Sunday, fulfilling one of his last wishes.

Dustin Snyder, 19, and Sierra Siverio, 21, were married Sunday at The Big Red Barn in Plant City, Florida. A photo published by The Tampa Bay Times of the young couple kissing after exchanging wedding vows was titled "A Promise Kept."

"I look forward to saying I do and being forever in love with Sierra as long as I have," Snyder said, according to the paper. "Sierra has given me the strength to keep up everything in my life."

Snyder was diagnosed with synovial sarcoma a day before his 18th birthday in 2016, according to a GoFundMe page set up to raise money for his wedding. Doctors conducted surgery to remove the cancer from his affected lung, but the cancer returned and took over his stomach and pelvic area. He is currently in hospice with a pain pump connected to his heart.

An update posted to the GoFundMe page on Monday said the campaign had reached its donation goal. Some of the money raised went towards a massage chair for Snyder's body and other funds will be used for bills and taxes collected on the money.

The two first met in the sixth-grade, lost touch after middle school and met once again as high school seniors, according to USA Today.

"Definitely my first love," Siverio told USA Today. "For sure."
