WHY FLORIDA MATTERS — AND IS PENALIZED

The "dogfight" comes at an expense, with Florida's delegates to the Repubilcan National Convention "getting snubbed in their own house," according to a Fox News report posted Jan. 11.
"The state is expected to lose half its 99 delegates as a result of its decision to hold the Republican presidential primary on Jan. 31," which state party leaders were not supposed to do before April, according to the Fox report. As a result, the Republican National Committee has voted unanimously to limit the number of guest passes Florida delegates can hand out as well as to give them less favorable seating and hotel options.
The Republican National Convention is scheduled for the St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa, Aug. 27-30.
