Hillsborough Pet Adoption Fees Waived Until Sunday
The free adoptions at the Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center are due to overcrowding at the shelter.

BRANDON, FL – The Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center is calling all people who are available to adopt a pet this weekend.
The Pet Resource Center announced Friday, July 28 it is over capacity and will waive adoption fees for all dogs and cats until Sunday, July 30. The Pet Resource Center is located at 440 N. Falkenburg Road.
As of Friday afternoon, the center reported it was at 102 percent capacity with more than 500 dogs and cats available for adoption. The center is asking for the community’s helping in finding as many pets at the shelter “forever homes” this weekend.

The Pet Resource Center is the only open admission facility in Hillsborough County. That means it accepts cats and dogs regardless of size, age, breed or medical condition.
Additionally, Pet Resource Center officials said pet foster parents are always needed and help make available kennel space. Foster parents also can provide special care and attention to particularly vulnerable animals.

After July 30, all ready-to-go pets will be $20, which includes spaying or neutering, vaccinations, microchipping and registration.
Hillsborough County residents can search online at http://hcflgov.net/adopt to view hundreds of adoptable pets. Adoptions must be done in person at the shelter. The Pet Resource Center is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
