Ladies Rule at Winthrop's Beaux Arts Gallery

Ladies rule during the next “Thursday Night Live!” event at the Beaux Arts Gallery, 11252 Winthrop Main St. in Riverview, an event from the past that has proven popular in the area.

This Thursday’s event, May 31 from 6 to 10 p.m., will feature the diverse work of artists Adrienne Herbert and Abby Markov.

Herbert paints in the style of the Old Masters, incorporating underpainting, then applying a glaze and building on the paint colors to create special effects.

Markov describes herself as an experimental painter. She creates her own paint from wax, resin and pigment.

Residents are invited to meet the artists and view their works.
