Man Killed When Car Hits Him On U.S. 301 In Thonotosassa: Police

THONOTOSASSA, FL — A 45-year-old Thonotosassa man was hit and killed by a car Friday afternoon on U.S. Highway 301, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The victim was walking across U.S. Highway 301 northbound near Tom Folsom Road at 4:11 p.m. when an SUV driven by a 65-year-old man passed a slower car on the right in a merge lane and hit the man, investigators said.

The pedestrian died at the location, authorities said.

Due to Marsy's Law, the Florida Highway Patrol will not release the name of the victim.
