Motorcyclist Killed In U.S. 301 Single Crash: Highway Patrol

A motorcyclist was thrown from a bike he drove on the entrance ramp to Interstate-4 from U.S. Highway 301, deputies said.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL — A 57-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a U.S. 301 crash on Monday night after the driver lost control of the bike, Florida Highway Patrol said.

The victim drove southbound on the entrance ramp from U.S. Highway 301 to Interstate-4 about 8:55 p.m. when the bike left the roadway at the curve, according to investigators. The motorcycle flipped over and hit the concrete barrier in the separator. The driver was thrown onto the paved shoulder of I-4 westbound where he died, troopers said.

Due to Marsy's Law, the Florida Highway Patrol will not release the name of the victim.
