Reader's Spotlight: Guardian ad Litem Volunteers Needed

Volunteers serve as representatives of abused, abandoned and neglected children before the court system.

As a Guardian ad Litem volunteer herself, Brandon Patch reader Catherin Gregory knows all too well the need for people who will serve as the voice of children.

"Thousands of abused, abandoned and neglected children become the subjects in judicial proceedings each year in Florida," said Gregory in the announcement she posted on Brandon Patch. "Their voices are often unheard and their best interests overlooked in the complicated and overburdened adversary process."

You don't need to be a lawyer or a social worker to help a child. You simply need to care, said Gregory.
