Rotarians Spruce Up All Persons Playground

All Persons Playground at Clayton Park gets a cleanup by members of Greater Brandon area Rotary clubs. The park is a public/private venture involving Rotarians and the Hillsborough County Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department.

The Rotary Club of Brandon ’86 sponsored its annual All Persons Playground cleanup April 28. At Clayton Park, the handicapped accessible playground, at 800 South Parsons Ave., was designed with fun in mind for parkgoers of all abilities. There are ramps along with stairs to get onto the equipment.

Rotarians from the Rotary clubs of Brandon '86,  Fishhawk-Riverview and Brandon South, along with Boy Scout Troop 1986 and Cub Scout Pack 61 and family members, came out to spend their Saturday morning making the playground shine like new.

Local small businessed also helped in the effort:

  • Subway franchisee David Newberry provided trays of sandwiches and cookies.
  • Signmakers provided pizza, sodas, ice and other supplies.
  • Valrico State Bank provided cases of water and bags of chips.
  • Textor Services, a commercial maintenance company, provided most of the heavy equipment needed for the cleanup.
