Selmon Expressway Lane Closing Announced
Detours are planned over a three-week period for cleaning on the Selmon Expressway's reversible lanes.

BRANDON, FL — Motorists who use the Selmon Expressway to get around might want to take note of an upcoming lane closing that may impact their normal commutes. The Tampa-Hillsborough Expressway Authority has announced the closing of the east- and westbound local lanes for pressure cleaning on the Reversible Express Lanes.
According to the expressway authority, the closing will impact lanes both directions between 50th Street and 22nd Street Sunday through Thursday evenings. The closings will last from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for an estimated three weeks starting Sunday, Sept. 18.
Motorists who are heading west on the Selmon will be directed off at 50th Street and will use Adamo Drive to 22nd Street to reenter the expressway, the authority wrote in an email to media. The eastbound detour is the same in reverse, the agency said.
