Severe Injury Reported in Plant City Fire
Breaking: A person was severely injured escaping a Plant City mobile home fire Tuesday afternoon.
PLANT CITY, FL — Hillsborough County Fire Rescue is investigating the cause of a Tuesday afternoon blaze that ripped through a Plant City mobile home, causing severe injuries to a person.
According to the agency, a 911 call came in around 12:50 p.m. about a fire in the 1800 block of McGee Road. When firefighters arrived, they saw heavy smoke and flames coming from the home.
While performing their initial attack on the fire, first responders found a person with severe injuries on the ground outside the home, an email from the agency said. Treatment was begun immediately with the person taken to a local hospital as a trauma alert.

Fire rescue says the person, who has not been identified, was injured trying to escape the fire.
It took about 20 minutes for the 25 firefighters on scene to put out the fire, the agency noted.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
No further details are being released at this time.
