Shooting Death Investigation At Brandon Apartments: Sheriff

BRANDON, FL — Deputies are investigating a shooting death that occurred at a Brandon apartment complex early Wednesday morning, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.

Investigators said just before 6:30 a.m., a witness called 9-1-1 after hearing gunshots at Cypress Trace Apartments, 812 Providence Trace Circle. The victim who was at this location had upper body trauma and died at Brandon Regional Hospital, authorities said.

"Detectives are currently processing evidence to determine what led to this incident and who was involved," Sheriff Chad Chronister said. "Anyone with information is urged to contact the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at 813-247-8200."
