Suspect's Car Breaks Down After He Left Crash Location: Troopers
A Tampa man's car broke down after Florida Highway Patrol said he left a Gibsonton crash location that left a woman critically injured.
GIBSONTON, FL — A woman is in critical condition after a 38-year-old Tampa man crashed his car into the victim's Wednesday night in Gibsonton, Florida Highway Patrol said.
The suspect, Martin Javier Garcia Trujillo was allegedly driving under the influence as investigators said he sped his car along U.S. Highway 41 northbound near Gibsonton Drive.
A 33-year-old woman of Gibston was driving northbound ahead of Trujillo when he crashed into the back of her car at 11:44 p.m, investigators said. This caused the victim's car to smash into a nearby concrete barrier three times. Trujillo is accused of driving away.

The suspect's car broke down shortly after he left the crash on U.S. Highway 41, troopers said.
Trujillo was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of the crash with serious injury, DUI injury and DUI property damage, according to detectives.

The victim was last reported in critical condition, authorities said.
