Tampa Man Dies In Ruskin Area Crash: Highway Troopers
A man died Saturday evening on U.S. Highway 41 when his car crashed into a power pole and flipped over, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL — A crash killed a 38-year-old Tampa man Saturday evening when his car hit a power pole and overturned on U.S. Highway 41, Florida Highway Patrol said.
A 41-year-old Tampa man and the victim drove southbound on U.S. Hwy 41 just north of Valroy Road at about 6:45 p.m., authorities said. When the 41-year-old driver tried to pass the other man, the front of his car smashed into the back of the victim's vehicle in the right lane. This caused the victim's car to crash into a pole just off the highway. When he crashed into the pole, his car flipped over. Detectives said the 38-year-old died in the crash.
The 41-year-old experienced minor injuries when his car flipped over in the crash, according to troopers.
