Carrollwood Cultural Center Launches New Website
The site allows the Center's visitors to do things online before stopping by.

Since the Carrollwood Cultural Center opened its doors four years ago, officials there have tried to promote its purpose and vision to the community through art classes, business expos and fliers.
The Center also used its website, www.carrollwoodcenter.org, to expand its presence online.
But the website wasn't much of a draw for the Center's patrons.

That changed on Aug. 3 when the site received what officials say was a much-needed upgrade.
"We had it since late 2008 or early 2009 when we launched," said Adrienne Hutelmyer, marketing and community relations director for the Center. "It was really good for what we needed at the time, but our business had just grown, and we needed something a little more dynamic."

Center officials asked the community for feedback before they bid out the work to about 10 companies, Hutelmyer said. The Center ended up paying $6,175 to a company called eClick Performance.
Now, the website's visitors can search for specific events in a series, check out a permanent art collection on the site and request room rental information, Hutelmyer said.
"The programming is more dynamic than what we had before," she said. "Our hope is that it's going to be easier to find information."
