Florida has 41 designated aquatic preserves that make up more than 2.2 million acres that provide wildlife habitat and recreation space for the public. The state’s natural coasts and resources provide enormous economic value as well, with its reliance on tourism and the fishing industry.
Judy Ashton, an environmental specialist with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, will show the wonders and beauty of Florida’s coastal resources, as well as discuss the ways in which they stay protected Wednesday, March 27 at 3 p.m. at the North Tampa Branch Library, 8916 N. Boulevard, Tampa.
