CARROLLWOOD, FL — After a two-year stint of social distancing and staying 6 feet apart due to the coronavirus, preschoolers at Primrose School of Carrollwood celebrated by embracing their friends again on National Hugging Day on Jan. 21.
Primrose’s Balanced Learning curriculum teaches students that children who feel valued and included develop confidence and a strong sense of self, also known as a sense of belongingness. This love and respect can be shown through a hug for a friend.
Primrose puts belongingness at the center of the curriculum to share the importance of creating and maintaining an environment where everyone feels included and where similarities and differences are nurtured and respected.
