Tampa Sex Offender Arrested For Child Porn, Prison Escape: U.S. DOJ
A convicted sex offender from Tampa who escaped from federal prison was arrested on new charges, the U.S. DOJ said.
TAMPA, FL — A convicted sex offender from Tampa who escaped from prison last month was recently arrested and charged with distribution and possession of child sexual abuse material and escape, the U.S. Department of Justice said in a news release.
If convicted on all counts, Richard Plummer, 44, faces up to 65 years in federal prison.
He was convicted of coercion and enticement of a minor to engage in sexual activity in 2018 and sentenced to 10 years in federal prison.

Between Oct. 29 and 31, Plummer distributed and possessed a picture of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct, the DOJ said.
Then, on Nov. 1, he escaped from the Bureau of Prisons and the Tampa Residential Re-Entry Center, a facility where he was serving his sentence, the department said.
