Registration Still Open for Northdale Girls Conference

The conference will be held next week

Registration is still open for a county girls conference held next week in Northdale, county officials said on Tuesday.

The June 12 conference for girls aged 12-17 was created to help teens further their career goals, meet new people and learn more about hair and skin care. The conference be held from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Northdale Recreation Center, 15550 Spring Pine Drive. The cost is $10 per person.

County officials are hoping to register 100 girls, said Russell Elefterion, manager at Hillsborough County Parks & Recreation. On Tuesday, about 60 girls were registered.

The keynote speaker at the conference will be the reigning Mrs. America and Tampa native April Lufriu. Workshop topics include fashion, health and nutrition and career goals.

The cost of the event includes a T-shirt and lunch. This girls only conference is sponsored by the Northdale O.W.L.S. and Friends of the County Parks.
