Caffeine Roasters
2420 W Kennedy Blvd
Tampa
Looking for you writing tribe? They’re definitely somewhere on Kennedy and probably at Caffeine Roasters. You might even have to share a table with one of them.
Quality and pricing of food and drink:
Expensive. Got some kind of biscuit with egg, kale, avocado, honey ham and cheese and an iced apple tea that cost me $21. The sandwich itself was massive and spilling over, definitely taking over half of it home. You get some leaves on the plate sprinkled with balsamic and a plop of potato chips that look like they were sneezed out of the bottom of the bag. The flavor was okay, if not a little bland, but the quality is excellent and tastes locally sourced.

How’s the wifi?
Quick and secure, with the password printed on a little chalkboard at the counter.

Will my muse come out?
Yes. The atmosphere is totally writing, reading, talk about writing and reading. The music is soft and unfamiliar, perfect for mood setting without distracting with top-forty ear worms.
How long can I park it?
They close at 6:00 and the crowd started to thin out about 1:00, so I’m ready to settle in and work on some short stories today.
Final rating: 3.5 out of 5 laptops (simply because as a writer I couldn’t afford to come here every day. Even a bagel and cream cheese with a drink will put you over $10)
