1920s-Era House 'A Total Loss' After Fire in Clearwater

No one was hurt, but the home suffered about $100,000 in damages, fire officials said.

A 1920s-era Clearwater house is described as "a total loss" following a fire Thursday night, officials said.

Two people inside the two-story house at 1051 Nokomis St. got out safely as flames began to ravage it around 11:30 p.m., according to Clearwater Fire and Rescue.

It took firefighters about 20 minutes to bring the blaze under control.

Built in 1926, the home suffered an estimated $100,000 in damages, fire officials said.

Authorities say the blaze began in the electrical panel on the back porch.

No injuries were reported.

Nokomis Street is located just south of Sunset Point Road and east of Fort
Harrison Avenue.
