24-Year-Old Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries In Fiery U.S. 19 Crash
Clearwater police said alcohol appears to be a factor in the crash.
CLEARWATER, FL — A 24-year-old was taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg with life-threatening injuries after being thrown from a car during a crash on U.S. 19.
Clearwater Police and Clearwater Fire & Rescue responded to a car crash shortly after 1:30 a.m. Wednesday in the northbound lanes of U.S. 19 at Sunset Point Road.
According to police, a 2016 Honda Pilot crashed into the divider on U.S. 19. The 24-year-old driver was thrown from the car before it burst into flames. Alcohol appears to be a factor in the crash.

The northbound lanes of U.S. 19 were shut down for about three hours for the investigation.
