Church of Scientology to Host Back to School Event in Downtown Clearwater
Clearwater kids will be provided with the necessary supplies for a good education at the Back to School event in downtown Clearwater.
Clearwater, FL — The Church of Scientology Flag Service Organization is inviting families across Clearwater to a Back to School Bash in downtown Clearwater on Saturday, August 9th, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. The event will provide students with backpacks and other essential school supplies to set them up for success.
“The lack of basic school supplies can have long-term consequences on a child's development,” said Lisa Mansell, Community Affairs Director for the Church of Scientology. “Surveys show that an average 16 million students in the United States lack essential school supplies, leading to academic struggles. By offering these resources, the Church aims to help level the playing field and ensure every student has the tools they need to thrive.”
In addition to school supplies, the Church-sponsored humanitarian centers along Fort Harrison Avenue will also offer educational resources. For example, Foundation for a Drug-Free World will provide factual, age-appropriate information to help young people understand the dangers of substance abuse. The Way to Happiness campaign will offer simple, non-religious common sense guidelines to support making good choices. United for Human Rights will introduce young attendees to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, empowering them with an understanding of their basic freedoms granted to all of Mankind.
