Clearwater Christmas 2023: What’s Open, Closed For The Holiday

Here are some closures and schedule changes for Clearwater-area government offices, facilities and services for Christmas.

CLEARWATER, FL — With Clearwater-area residents celebrating Christmas Monday, here are some closures and schedule changes affecting government offices, facilities and services over the long holiday weekend.

Clearwater Government Offices: Closed Monday. Several city services will be available online at MyClearwater.com.

City Garbage Collection: Residential trash and recycling collection regularly scheduled for Monday will be made on Tuesday. Tuesday collections will be made on Wednesday, including commercial customers. Thursday and Friday collections will remain the same.

Recreation Facilities: Some rec centers and facilities will be closed Monday. Contact specific facilities for their hours.

Clearwater Libraries: Closed Monday.

Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority: On Monday, buses and other services will operate on a holiday schedule, which is the same as a Sunday schedule. The InfoLine and Customer Service Centers are closed Monday.

Pinellas County Schools: Closed through Jan. 5. Students return to school Jan. 8.

Pinellas County Offices: All facilities and offices, including departments under the Board of County Commissioners, Clerk’s Office, Tax Collector, Property Appraiser and Supervisor of Elections, will be closed Monday.

County Parks and Preserves: Closed Monday. Fort De Soto Parks, county boat ramps and beach access parks will remain open. The parks administrative office, Heritage Village and Education Centers will be closed Monday. Both education centers will also be closed Sunday. Florida Botanical Gardens Holiday Lights will remain open daily through Jan. 1.

County Animal Services: The offices and adoption center will be closed Monday.

Sixth Judicial Court: Court will not be in session except for first-appearance advisory hearings and emergency situations.

Solid Waste Disposal Complex: Open Saturday until 5 p.m. and closed Sunday and Monday. The Household Hazardous Waste Center, Swap Shop and Administration Building will be closed Saturday through Monday.

Tax Collector’s Office: Closed Monday.
