Clearwater Fire Under Investigation

Authorities are investigating a Thursday morning fire that left a mobile home heavily damaged.

CLEARWATER, FL — Clearwater Fire Rescue and the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office are investigating an early Thursday morning blaze that tore through a mobile home.

According to Clearwater officials, the fire broke out around 6 a.m. May 11 in a home within the Southern Comfort Mobile Home Park in the 24400 block of U.S. 19 N. When firefighters arrived on the scene, the found the home “heavily consumed with flames,” an email from the agency said.

The blaze was extinguished, but not before the home suffered extensive damage. Authorities say the home was not occupied at the time the fire broke out.

Just what caused the fire remains under investigation. No injuries were reported.
