Clearwater Firm Sold for $39 Million
The maker of aircraft components is being acquired by a Cleveland company.

Aerosonic Corp., which makes components for aircraft, will be acquired by TransDigm in a $39 million deal, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
Under the terms of the deal, TransDigm will purchase all outstanding shares of Aerosonic, at $7.75 per share. The deal is a cash transaction, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
Aerosonic, based in Clearwater, sells components to Boeing as well as to the U.S. government, along with other clients. It is a publicly traded company. The acquisition is expected to commence in May.

According to the Aerosonic website:

Aerosonic will function as a subsidiary of TransDigm, which is based in Cleveland.
In a company press release, Doug Hillman, Aerosonic’s President and CEO, stated: “We are excited to have Aerosonic join a growth oriented partner and industry leader. This merger will allow Aerosonic to leverage its proprietary air data and display technologies via TransDigm’s broad market presence and financial strength, enhancing the growth prospects of the TransDigm team.”
