Clearwater Man Hurt in Fall From Parking Garage Roof

The man had been drinking as he and a friend climbed up to the restricted roof area of the Madeira Beach garage "to get a better view of the city," deputies said. He was in stable condition.

A Clearwater man was seriously injured after apparently falling from the rooftop of a Johns Pass parking garage in Madeira Beach, authorities said.

Nicholas Voutsinas, 31, and a friend had climbed up to a restricted roof area of the parking garage — about seven stories high — "to get a better view of the city" sometime around midnight Thursday, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.

The friend decided to come down, deputies said, while Voutsinas remained. By the time the friend reached the ground floor, Voutsinas was already laying in the roadway unconscious.
