Clearwater Marine Aquarium is proud to host the next installment of Echoes of the Ocean: A Marine Life Speaker Series on Tuesday, Nov. 4, at 5:30 to 8 p.m. in the Dolphin Tale Theater. This dynamic evening will feature world-renowned veterinary scientist and right whale expert, Dr. Michael J. Moore, from the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution.

Designed to spotlight critical issues in marine science and conservation, the Echoes of the Ocean series brings together influential voices shaping the future of our oceans. Each event offers the public an exclusive opportunity to engage with leaders in ocean research, advocacy, and animal care.

Dr. Moore will share insights from his powerful book, We Are All Whalers, which explores how everyday human choices impact the survival of endangered North Atlantic right whales and other marine species. With more than 30 years of research in marine mammal health, Dr. Moore challenges audiences to recognize their shared responsibility in protecting ocean life—and offers practical steps anyone can take to make a difference.

Joining him will be Melanie White, Director of the North Atlantic Right Whale Conservation Project and a research biologist with Clearwater Marine Aquarium Research Institute. White will offer a behind-the-scenes look at her work monitoring right whales during their annual migration from New England to Florida, including her aerial surveys that track expectant mothers on their journey to give birth in southern waters.

“We are thrilled to welcome both Dr. Moore and Melanie White to our speaker series,” said Dr. Kelly McAdams, Vice President of Education and Conservation at Clearwater Marine Aquarium. “Their combined expertise and passion will offer invaluable insights and inspire meaningful action.
