Cub Scouts Take Over Ballpark As Summertime Tradition Returns
Cub Scouts are invited to the Scout Spectacular at BayCare Ballpark before Saturday night's Clearwater Threshers game.

CLEARWATER, FL — Joining in wacky contests on the field and presenting the American flag during the national anthem, Cub Scouts will take over BayCare Ballpark before Saturday night’s Clearwater Threshers game against the Bradenton Marauders.
More than 300 elementary school-aged Cub Scouts and their families are expected to attend the event, which starts at 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 23. The “Scout Spectacular” had become an annual tradition each summer, but with Minor League Baseball’s schedule changed by the pandemic, the 2020 and 2021 events did not take place.
- All kids at the game—not only Scouts—can win prizes in a variety of activities such as cornhole and Pinewood Derby races
- Cub Scouts will help present the American flag during the national anthem
- Scouts will take part in on-field activities
- A fireworks display will follow the game
The Scout Spectacular is open to the public, and a special $20 ticket available at the box office includes admission to the game and all-you-can-eat food and soft drinks. Scouts wearing their uniforms will get a fun gameday patch to add to their uniforms.
