CLEARWATER, FL — A section of Myrtle Avenue in downtown Clearwater closed to traffic late Monday morning because of downed wires, authorities said.

Power crews are on the scene after the wires fell near Laura Street, Clearwater police wrote in a Facebook post.

Drivers should avoid the area, police said.
