Firefighters Rescue Trapped Teen In 7 Minutes
Clearwater Fire & Rescue crews needed only a few minutes to free a girl who found herself trapped in pipes Thursday afternoon.
CLEARWATER, FL — When a 14-year-old Clearwater girl managed to get her leg trapped between two large pipes Thursday afternoon, firefighters worked quickly to devise a plan to free her.
According to Clearwater Fire Rescue, its crews were called to the 1300 block of Franklin Street around 4:25 p.m. May 25. When they arrived about four minutes later, they found the teen had managed to get her leg stuck in between to large pipes and couldn't get it out.
“It took firefighters just seven minutes to free her using a combination of inflatable rescue air bags and wooden blocks or cribbing,” an email from the agency said.

Once the girl was safely free of the pipes, she was airlifted to a local hospital for treatment.
The girl’s name is not being released nor her current condition. Further information is not available at this time.
