Florida Volunteer Ministers Promote Preparedness and Self-Reliance in 2025 Hurricane Season
Volunteer Ministers Offer Free Hurricane Preparedness Workshops to Help Florida Residents Stay Safe

CLEARWATER, FL — August 7, 2025 — Last year, Florida families experienced vast devastation from Hurricanes Debby, Helene, and Milton making landfall with great loss of property, and disruptions of supplies and utilities. To help families be self reliant and prepared for this years hurricane season the Scientology Volunteer Ministers of Florida are presenting a series of seminars open to the community. Following through with their motto “Something Can Be Done About It”, the Volunteer Ministers aim to help residents prepare for future storms with practical knowledge and resources.
Last year’s storms caused significant damage in Pinellas County, affecting over 40,000 homes and causing widespread power outages.1 Winds up to 140 mph tore
off roofs, flooded homes, downed trees, and pushed sand inland. In response, hundreds of Volunteer Ministers distributed supplies, cleared debris, and helped clean homes to prevent mold and further damage. They also provided Scientology “assists,” techniques developed by Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard to help individuals manage stress and trauma.
