Gusty Winds Knock Stucco Off Clearwater Bank Building

Police have also closed Drew Street in both directions near Highland Avenue after a crash severed a power pole.

CLEARWATER, FL — Cleveland Street is closed to pedestrian and vehicle traffic between Garden and East after Sunday morning’s gusty winds pulled portions of stucco off the Bank of America building.

Inspectors have determined the damage is not structural in nature.

Station Square Park is also closed.

Hopefully, the incident isn't a portent as the Bucs play the first game of the playoffs. The stucco was located just above a Bucs banner.

In addition, four people from two apartments were displaced after a tree fell in the 1200 block of North Osceola Avenue Sunday morning. Portions of the tree breached the two apartments.

No injuries were reported. Clearwater Fire & Rescue Department crews worked to secure the structure.
