Help Needed For Retired Police Sergeant

Today, we are reaching out to the community to help a retired Clearwater Police Sergeant, James (Jimmy) Heinz, who is currently battling Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer. Despite chemotherapy being his only option for survival, Jimmy's medical bills have now exceeded $25,000 out of pocket, and to make matters worse, the specialized experimental treatments that he needs are not covered by his insurance.

Jimmy has devoted his life to serving the public and his community. He was a firefighter in New York from 1978 to December 1982, and then served with the Clearwater Police Department (CPD) from January 1983 until June 2003, where he retired as a patrol sergeant. During his time with CPD, Jimmy was a crime scene investigator, hostage negotiator, marine enforcement unit member, and part of the drug enforcement operations with Blue Lightning Task Force in Miami. He also received the Combat Cross for his bravery during a Spring Break incident on Clearwater Beach.

In addition, Jimmy owned and operated Heinz Air Conditioning and Heating from 1987 until 2019, frequently donating air conditioning systems or repairs to charitable organizations, youth sports teams, and other programs that engage the youth in surrounding communities.

However, Jimmy now needs our help. His cancer fight has had a significant impact on his family's savings, and they need our support to ease their financial burden.
