Hulk Hogan's Estate Files Lawsuit Against Bubba The Love Sponge To Block Sex Tape Documentary

Hulk Hogan's family filed a lawsuit against radio host Bubba the Love Sponge to block the release of a documentary about his sex tape.

CLEARWATER, FL — Hulk Hogan’s estate has filed a lawsuit in Florida against Bubba the Love Sponge to prevent the release of a documentary about the late professional wrestler, whose real name is Terry Bollea, according to reports.

His son, Nick Hogan, filed the lawsuit after the radio host, whose real name is Todd Alan Clem, announced that he would release "Video Killed The Radio Star: The Untold Story Of The Hulk Hogan Sex Tape Scandal" later this month, TMZ reported.

Bubba says the documentary shares the real story of how Hulk’s sex tape with his ex-wife, Heather Clem, got leaked to the media.

Hulk won a $140 million judgment against Gawker, the online news site that published a clip of the tape in 2012.

The wrestler’s son says a trailer for the film includes unauthorized images from the sex tape, reports said.

Any use of the sex tape, which was secretly recorded by Bubba in 2007, goes against a 2012 confidential settlement agreement between Hulk and the radio show host, according to the complaint filed by the wrestler’s estate, Bloomberg Law reported.

“Clem copied, reproduced, publicly displayed, and distributed portion of the Unauthorized Video without authorization or license” in a trailer for the documentary shared to Bubba’s YouTube channel, the complaint said. “Clem will engage in additional widespread copyright infringement if he releases and publishes excerpts of Unauthorized Video on the streaming services he has referenced in promoting” the film.

Bubba said that lawsuit is unnecessary as he doesn’t have any ownership of the documentary, TMZ reported.

“I don’t own any of it. They’re suing the wrong people,” he said.

In a message to Nick, Bubba added, “You [expletive]. Did you watch it? Do you realize your father is not portrayed in a bad light at all?"
