Police: Man Damages Storefronts, Cars in Downtown Clearwater

Police charged 62-year-old Leon Jones with five counts of criminal mischief. This is his third arrest by police in less than a month.

A homeless Clearwater man was arrested after Clearwater Police say he allegedly damaged multiple storefronts, cable boxes, cars and light fixtures in downtown Clearwater Saturday morning, the Tampa Bay Times reported.

According to Pinellas County Jail records, 62-year-old Leon Jones was charged with five counts of criminal mischief after Saturday's incidents. 

He is currently awaiting trail after his bonds were assessed at $10,000.

The Times reported that, "Jones attacked two storefronts, doing more than $1,000 worth of damage at each. He also broke cable boxes and light fixtures at 215 S Myrtle Ave., home to Dr. Paul Rodeghero's dental practice."

Jail records show this was the third time in less than a month Jones has been arrested.

On Feb. 11 Jones was arrested misdemeanor charges of "sleeping/lying/reclining." On Feb. 22 he was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of trespassing in an occupied structure.
