Police Ask For Help to Find Sexual Battery, Kidnapping Suspect

The man, who presented himself as a law enforcement officer, is said to be driving a newer red, two-door truck, according to Clearwater Police.

Clearwater Police are asking for help to find a man accused of impersonating an officer while kidnapping and sexually battering a woman early Saturday morning.

According to the police report, a woman was walking in the 1800 block of North Highland Avenue at around 2 a.m. when she was approached by a man in a newer, red two-door truck.

The man showed the victim a badge and had handcuffs hanging from his rear view mirror, the report states.

Believing she was in trouble, the woman got in the truck; the suspect then groped her in the vehicle and did so again when she got out of the truck, according to authorities.

The suspect was described as a white male, around 40 years old, wearing dark
uniform-like clothing, but with no patches visible.
