Road Closure In Place On Hercules Avenue At Calumet Street

The city of Clearwater has announced a number of road closures that might inconvenience drivers.

CLEARWATER, FL — Hercules Avenue will be closed at the traffic signal at Calumet Street in Clearwater starting March 6 and continuing to March 10 for sewer repairs.

Drivers should follow the detour signs.

Other Road Closures

  • The northbound lane of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue from Eldridge to Palm Bluff streets will be closed to traffic through March 10 for median work. Southbound traffic will remain open, and the closure will be from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily. There will be a detour for northbound traffic only.
  • Cleveland Street from Missouri Avenue to Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard and Gulf-to-Bay from Cleveland to Court streets are currently closed through June 1 due to construction associated with the Cleveland Street Streetscaping project. There will be lane shifts only; no detours.
  • Harn Boulevard west of the U.S. 19 service road has been closed by the Florida Department of Transportation through July 20 due to construction of the pedestrian overpass project. There will be intermittent lane shifts.
  • Frontier Communications is placing duct, fiber and hand holes through April throughout these areas: Harn Boulevard, Williams Drive, Whispering Pines Drive, Ranchwood Drive, Stewart Boulevard, Summerline Drive, Fairbanks Drive, Glennan Drive, Moreland Drive and Dickenson Drive. There will be no detour.
  • The northwest corner of Catalina Drive to Belcher Road will be under construction through March 17 due to the placement of microduct by Uniti Fiber. There will be no detour.
  • Grand Central Street between Myrtle Avenue and the railroad tracks will be closed to traffic through March 9 due to a sewer repair. Traffic will be detoured around the block to Pinellas Street or Jeffords Avenue.
