Soup Recalled From Popular FL Grocer May Contain Insects
There may be bugs in that soup you bought at Trader Joe's, the company announced. Here's what Florida shoppers should know.

FLORIDA — Trader Joe's has issued a recall of one of its products from Florida shelves because of possible foreign object contamination, saying its Unexpected Broccoli Cheddar Soup "may contain insects."
And the grocer's Fully Cooked Falafel has been recalled in Florida and 35 other states because it have rocks in it.
The affected product lots for the recalled soup have a SKU # of 68470, and a "use by" date between July 18 and Sept. 15, 2023, said the specialty grocer. The supplier of that particular brand of soup alerted Trader Joe's that it may contain insects, said the company.

The FDA enforcement report about the recall identified 15 lot numbers and use-by dates. The dates of the affected soup include July 18-20, July 25-27, Aug. 1-2, Aug 9-10, Aug. 29-30, Sept. 4, Sept. 6 and Sept. 15, according to the agency.
Stores in seven states — California, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Texas and Washington — received the tainted soup, according to the Food and Drug Administration.

The Fully Cooked Falafel (SKU# 93935) has also been issued a recall.
Trader Joe's said that both products have been removed from all stores and destroyed. Anyone who purchased these products should throw them out or return them for a full refund.
Trader Joe's has more than 20 locations in Florida.
Trader Joe's said no customers have reported adverse health effects from eating the products, and did not specify exactly what insects the product could contain.
"If you purchased or received any donations of Unexpected Broccoli Cheddar Soup, please discard the product or return it to any Trader Joe’s for a full refund," said the retailer.
