Tree-Lighting Ceremony To Kick Off Clearwater's Holiday Extravaganza

CLEARWATER, FL — The city of Clearwater's Holiday Extravaganza begins this week in downtown Clearwater beginning Nov. 30 with a tree-lighting ceremony, followed by a lineup of festive events throughout December.

Residents are invited to join Clearwater Mayor Frank Hibbard and Santa Wednesday from 6 to 8:30 p.m. for the lighting of the city's tree at Station Square Park, 612 Cleveland St., featuring live snow to play in, music, food and festivities.

Throughout the month of December, downtown Clearwater will be transformed during Holiday Extravaganza with bright lights, festive decorations, artistic window displays and spirited activities.

Other highlights from the 2022 Holiday Extravaganza include:

  • The Downtown Clearwater Holiday Stroll nightly all December during which families are invited to stroll downtown and enjoy the millions of holiday lights. Families can enjoy free pop-up performances in Station Square Park on Dec. 14 at 6 and 6:30 p.m., on Dec. 15 at 6:30p.m., and Dec. 16 at 6 p.m.
  • Miracle on Cleveland Street, presented by Ruth Eckerd Hall, will take place Sunday, Dec. 4, from 2 to 7 p.m. The beloved annual tradition returns, transforming Cleveland Street into a family-friendly street festival with live entertainment, activities and a visit from Santa Claus.
  • The Holiday Spirit of Lights Festival will take place Friday, Dec. 9, from 6 to 10 p.m. Stroll through the holiday lights and experience an extra special night of festivities including glow-in-the-dark putt-putt, train rides, bounce houses, face painting and holiday picture opportunities. There will also be carolers, live music, stiltwalkers, the Grinch, Elsa, Ana, Olaf, reindeers and Santa.
  • Do your Christmas shopping at The Market Marie on Cleveland Street Saturday, Dec. 10, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The outdoor farmers and artisan market will feature a unique mix of more than 100 local vendors as well as a visit from Santa.
  • Home for the Holidays Paws-on-Parade, benefiting the Humane Society of Pinellas, will take place Saturday, Dec. 17, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bring your furry loved ones to wag, woof and celebrate during the second annual holiday pet parade. Dress your family and pets in their holiday finest for photos with Santa, compete for the title of "best-dressed pet," enjoy treats, visit with local pet rescue groups and shop at a pet vendor market.
